Created using a casting technique with delft clay. An original piece was fabricated out of silver sheet and wire, then pressed into compacted clay to get the mold. The piece is removed, and "breathing" vents are drawn into the clay. Once the mold is ready, silver is melted and poured into it. After sawing, filing, and cleaning up the casting, the bezel for the stone is made and soldered onto the piece. The whole piece is then polished multiple times and finished by setting the stone.
This piece can be used in a knit shawl or sweater, or worn in the hair.
