The Custom Jewelry Experience with Corina Lunita
Corina Lunita is honored to bring your custom creation to life! Custom projects are a collaborative experience with Corinne Mooney, lead jeweler and Goldsmith. Each custom project is unique, so each experience will vary depending on the scope of the piece. I'm excited to combine your vision with the CL aesthetic!
CONSULTATION
After your initial inquiry and review of our custom process, you'll be in contact with Corinne directly to communicate ideas, see stones, and discuss design elements. Consultations help my studio understand your vision and help you get a better idea of what you want from your piece. After the initial meeting, I will provide you with your project’s timeline, payment details and other specifics.
DESIGN
All custom projects are designed within the established CL aesthetic. It is always helpful to see visual inspiration for your project, and I recommend scrolling through my Instagram to find a few pieces you like so I know your tastes and style. Out of respect for all designers, I will not recreate another designer’s work. I can, however, identify key elements you want present in your dream piece.
After establishing the stone and basics of your design, will reach out with a few sketches of your piece you can pick from. This can be a collaborative effort if you want it to be. You can pick certain elements from one design to put in another, or just give me the freedom of design (which I also love doing!)
COMMUNICATION
Post-consultation, I will be in touch with a project estimate. Upon approval, we will issue an invoice for the deposit. Once the deposit is complete, I'll get to work! Throughout the fabrication process, I may reach out for feedback.
Please note: projects estimated at over $400 USD require a 50% deposit of the lower estimate; projects estimated at under $400 USD require full payment upon approval of written estimate. Project deposits are non-refundable.
GEMSTONE SOURCING
To source gemstones, Corina personally attends national shows and individual appointments with her many gemstone dealers. With that in mind, I have a decent stock in the studio. Typically designs start with a stone, and she is happy to share her collection with you to pick through!
HEIRLOOM GEMSTONES
Heirloom gemstones refer to gemstones that are provided by you, the client – no matter their age or origin. I love to give new life to gemstones – especially those of sentimental value! However, utilizing these gems often increases the project engagement and cost due to the additional work required to incorporate the heirlooms into the design. Removal of heirloom gemstones from their original settings will also factor into the scope of the project. With that in mind, we can utilize heirloom gemstones, and sometimes even the metal, on a case-by-case basis and we are not liable for loss or any damages to your stones during the design process.
RECYCLING YOUR METAL
All of the precious metals in Corina Lunita jewelry is recycled. I am able to use 14 karat (58.5%) and above old jewelry you may have to melt down, reuse, or refine. Each case is different so feel free to reach out and let me know your jewelry needs!
PROJECT COMPLETION
Upon project completion, we will reach out to you with images and finalized cost. Once approved, we will send you the final invoice and arrange pick up or shipping. We often like to share images of our favorite custom projects; please let us know if this project is a surprise. We’re happy to wait until after any surprises or special dates to post about your project!
Custom Rings: Ring sizing is not an exact science; if your ring needs to be adjusted, your first sizing is free to ensure a perfect fit. There will be a base fee to cover labor and materials for any additional sizing.
Custom Repairs: I will always repair CL jewelry to the best of my ability. Cost, if any, will be determined by the nature of the repair.
